18 Aug 2023 a deputy met with Timothy Sanders who was turning himself in on a warrant.

18 Aug 2023 a deputy met with an individual in reference to a possible TPO violation.

18 Aug 2023 deputies completed residence checks, extra patrol requests and attempted/served civil papers.

18 Aug 2023 a deputy spoke with a subject in Waterford Township who wanted it noted that a mailbox had been damaged.

18 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Warren Township in reference to subjects picking up personal property. Verbal arguing was occurring between witnesses and they were advised to cease and desist or charges could be filed.

18 Aug 2023 a deputy met with a Wesley Township resident about the theft of tires. Subject only wanted this noted.

18 Aug 2023 a deputy met with a parent in Barlow Township in reference to a child being gone from a school event. The child had gone home with someone else.

18 Aug 2023 two 911 hang up calls were received. Wood County was advised of one call, and no information could be determined on the other call.

18 Aug 2023 Sgt. Painter conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Belpre Township. A strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle while speaking with the driver. K9 Timmy assisted at the scene. The driver, Collin Walker, was asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle, with him stating he had a bowl. A search revealed multiple drug paraphernalia items. Collin R Walker, 912 16th Street, Vienna, WV, will be issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia.

18 Aug 2023 Sgt. Painter conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Belpre Township. While speaking with the driver, Keith Armstrong, he noted a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Armstrong admitted to being in possession of marijuana when asked. A search of the vehicle yielded 20.95 grams of marijuana. A summons will be requested for Keith Armstrong, 1509 Bying Drive, Charleston, WV, on a charge of possession of marijuana.

18-19 Aug 2023 verbal/written warnings were issued for the following traffic offenses: speed, improper display, marked lanes, failure to use turn signal, improper lane change, following too close, fictitious registration, equipment, expired registration and obstructed plate.

18 Aug 2023 deputies responded with the Newport VFD Squad to the scene of a deceased individual.

19 Aug 2023 three 911 hang up calls were received. All were confirmed accidental

19 Aug 2023 a deputy assisted the Beverly Waterford VFD and Watertown VFD at a structure fire in Waterford Township.

19 Aug 2023 a deputy assisted the Little Hocking VFD and Ohio State Highway Patrol at a 2 vehicle accident in Belpre Township.

19 Aug 2023 a deputy secured a storage building in Muskingum Township where the lock was removed.

19 Aug 2023 a deputy conducted a welfare check in Belpre Township.

19 Aug 2023 a deputy located Paul Wallace who had an active warrant for his arrest. Wallace was taken into custody.

19 Aug 2023 deputies completed residence checks, extra patrol requests and attempted/served civil papers.

19 Aug 2023 Deputy Eichhorn conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle bearing Ohio registration in Pioneer Township, for a lanes of travel violation. Contact was made with the driver and passengers. On the rear floorboard of the vehicle was burnt tin foil and a small bag. Inquiry was made in reference to these items and Justin Hines dumped the bag out revealing a small glass vial containing, what was believed to be, drug residue. A search of the car revealed a black lockbox containing several baggies, often used to traffic drugs. All occupants exited the vehicle including Justin Hines. Hines was searched for weapons and while conducting this search, without manipulating the item, a bulge was felt with a hard knot which was immediately identified as contraband. The baggy was recovered from Hines’ pants and found to be a clear baggy containing three separate baggies with 4.88 grams of suspected fentanyl, 2.11 grams of suspected fentanyl and 7.24 grams of suspected methamphetamines. Justin Brian Hines, age 26, was placed under arrest and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of fentanyl. Hines was transported to the Washington County Jail.

Timothy Lee Sanders, age 45, Malta, OH, breaking and entering, 2 counts, possession of criminal tools, and breach of recognizance, all felonies, and receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor.

Connor Ray Arnott, age 22, Belpre, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor. Destinee Patience Farnsworth, age 27, homeless, resisting arrest and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors.

Bruce Edward Ashby, age 40, Marietta, OH, theft, a misdemeanor.

Mark Christopher Remsky, age 38, Marshleville, OH, failure to register change of address, a felony.

Paul Anthony Wallace, II, age 31, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

Justin Brian Hines, age 26, homeless, possession of fentanyl and possession of drugs, both felonies.

Cory Michael Louive, age 32, Marietta, OH, probation violation, OVI and failure to control, all misdemeanors.

Destiny Renee Baker, age 22, Parkersburg, WV, burglary, theft of a firearm and theft of credit cards, all felonies.

Nathan Adam Sayger, age 33, Marietta, OH, strangulation, a felony, and domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

There are currently 22 women and 86 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.

The following individual(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail 18 Aug 2023 to 20 Aug 2023:
